The Client’s Vision
When the Lagos State Government launched the Produce for Lagos initiative, they needed a souvenir that would embody its mission: Lagos as a thriving food basket, abundant, sustainable, and ready to nourish its people.
They wanted something tangible to hand out—an item that wouldn’t just decorate desks but would stand as a reminder of the vision behind the initiative.
But There Was One Issue, Time.
The event was fast approaching, and the client had been unable to find a way around creating a custom souvenir that would capture the vision succinctly in one glance without words. By the time they got to us, there was only a week left.
A project of this nature usually takes about three weeks from concept development to prototyping and production. But this time, it needed to be ready in one week without sacrificing quality or losing sight of the vision.
Quality, creativity, and timeliness had to come together without compromise, so we got to work.
Bringing the Vision to Life
We began with a consultation to help our team understand the intention behind the souvenir and the vision for it. There were two keywords – symbolic and memorable.
Our design team quickly developed several iterations, working closely with the client to refine the concept.
The chosen design was a basket filled with food produce, mounted on a base inscribed with Produce for Lagos.
How We Beat the Time Constraint
To meet the tight timeline, we proposed a smart adjustment: crafting the basket and fruits in a single color as opposed to having different colors of fruits in a differently colored basket.
This allowed us to maintain both speed and consistency without losing the symbolic weight of the piece.
We shared a prototype for review; there were a few adjustments. Once the adjustments were implemented, we moved into full production.
The Result
In just one week, we delivered 100 uniquely crafted souvenirs—each one produced right here in Nigeria.
For the Lagos State Government, it wasn’t just about having a giveaway. These souvenirs became a physical emblem of the Produce for Lagos movement. We beat the timeline and delivered a creative, locally made keepsake that captured the program’s heart and helped inspire stakeholders to rally around the initiative.
Testimonial
The souvenirs were loved and well-accepted, and some attendees reached out to signify interest in creating souvenirs for their own upcoming events.
