What The Client Needed
For Huawei Day Nigeria 2025, the brand needed high-quality, functional souvenirs that would
leave a lasting impression on guests—including partners, stakeholders, and other key players inthe tech ecosystem.
But not just any gifts would do. Huawei wanted unique, functional souvenirs that not only represented the brand, but were also Made in Nigeria.
The souvenirs needed to serve two goals:
- Impress stakeholders with utility and finish
- Reflect the brand identity at one glance
What Was Getting in the Way
We approached this brief with a clear direction: each souvenir had to be functional and on-brand, while showcasing the capabilities of Nigerian manufacturing.
We began with an exploration phase, where we mapped out functional product categories that guests would appreciate—items with both desktop presence and long-term use value.
We shared our iterations for the souvenirs—a wireless charger, table lamp, and Newton’s cradle—with the Huawei team and received tangible feedback on the design direction after which we continued the design process while ensuring we remained consistent with the brand’s visual language and reputation for sleek, minimal aesthetics.
Once the designs were approved, we moved to prototyping and iteration, refining proportions, finishes, and mechanical functionality according to the brand’s preference, before full-scale production.
Afterwards, we designed and manufactured custom boxes to house each piece. These were also shared with the client for approval before final production.
Result
In total, we delivered 450 Huawei souvenirs consisting of wireless charges, table lamps, and desk cradles that blended functionality, aesthetics, and brand representation—all fully designed and manufactured in Nigeria.
All the products were designed to carry the Huawei logo and brand name. We didn’t stop at designing and manufacturing the products, we also designed unique packaging boxes from scratch.
The souvenirs strengthened Huawei’s brand presence while ensuring that the Huawei brand remained visible long after the event ended.
Most importantly, the project proved that Made-in-Nigeria gifts can meet global standards, offering Huawei a local solution that didn’t compromise on creativity, craftsmanship, or brand alignment.
